Smaller Boats Regatta June 2021
We entered competitors into four of the Smaller Boats Races – two sculls, a pair, and a coxed four. You can see their results below.
Foster-Fairbairn Pairs (Men) – 7th June
Seth Follen & Rian Howe – lost
Our might pair had a strong start and were almost a length up at the halfway mark. Unfortunately, some shallow water, and a (as we were told) very friendly conversation with a bypassing fish, meant the boys eventually came second to Lady Margaret (Madland Shorter-Gardiner). A good performance from our Downing Pair! More information can be found here.

Peter Brandt Sculls (Men) – 10th June
Andreas Bedorf – 3rd place
Our Captain of Boats, Andreas Bedorf, entered into the Peter Brandt Sculls. After defeating Jesus (Butler), he narrowly lost to Girton (McMullan) in the semi finals, placing him third overall. Well done to him! More information can be found here.

Katherine Robinson – 2nd place
Katherine Robinson entered into the Junior Sculls race and, after beating Peterhouse (Sefcikova) in her first race, narrowly lost to First and Third (Dixon) in the final. A brilliant showing from Katherine! View the CUCBC page for more information.

May Bumps
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CUCBC made the decision to replace May Bumps with the June’s Eights Regatta.
June’s Eights Regatta – 20th to 24th June
The June’s Eights Regatta was the replacement to May Bumps, due to COVID-19 restrictions. It took the form of a side-by-side knockout race, with each crew racing every day. If a crew won, the next day they would face a winning crew, and similarly if they lost.
